Enchanted April at Arizona Theater Company. Director Timi Near asked me to do lights, and early in meetings we opted to add projections in the first act which I also designed. We knew Act II would have beautiful scenery, but the challenge was to make the first act in rain soaked London equally visually appealing. The projections allowed us to change the settings instantly, and drive home the constant rain. We came up with vintage wallpapers for each character to which I added windows and wall hangings. Transitions were period views of London with rain layered in. One transition had 30 layers programed in Watchout.
